5 mg THC Drink Dosing

By NICE Editorial Team · ·

What 5 mg actually is, how it's measured, what the published certificates show, and how to start.

What 5 mg is

Every NICE can is formulated to 5 mg of hemp-derived Delta-9 THC per 12 oz (355 mL) can — the whole catalog, across Berry Blast, Lemon Lime Extravaganza, Orchard Delight and the Party Pack. It's meant to function as a measured, repeatable serving: instead of guessing at a dropper or splitting an edible by eye, one can is one stated quantity.

We don't describe what that serving feels like. Response to THC depends on body weight, metabolism, tolerance and what you've eaten, so no brand can promise a specific feeling from a specific number.

What the published certificates actually measured

NICE currently publishes six independent lab certificates. ProVerde tested Berry (cert 135665) at 5.20 mg per 355 mL and Lemon Lime (cert 135666) at 4.96 mg per 355 mL, both with passing microbial results, in December 2025; a preliminary Apple certificate (136027) measured 5.10 mg per 12 oz. Trichome Analytical's May 2026 batch measured 4.624 mg/unit for Berry Blast, 4.539 mg/unit for Lemon Lime, and 4.545 mg/unit for Orchard Delight.

Across those six certificates, measured Delta-9 THC ranges from 4.54 mg to 5.20 mg per can. That is the range across the six certificates NICE currently publishes — not a general rule for the category, and not a claim that every batch ever produced has been tested. We publish the certificates so you can check the actual numbers yourself.

How to start with your first can

Pour half a can — about 2.5 mg — rather than drinking the whole thing, especially the first time. Wait at least 30–60 minutes before deciding whether to have more. If half a can hasn't done anything noticeable after that window, finishing the can is a reasonable next step; there's no reason to move straight to a second full can in one sitting.

Why timing varies

Brand guidance is roughly 15–30 minutes to onset and about 2–4 hours of duration, but that's a general range, not a guarantee — it depends on your body, metabolism, what you've eaten, and normal variation between people. Effects can be delayed, so give a can time before deciding it 'didn't work' and reaching for another.

What dosing information doesn't cover

No amount of label detail changes the basic safety rules: these are 21+ products, they can produce a positive drug test, they shouldn't be combined with alcohol, and you shouldn't drive or operate machinery after drinking one. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or managing a medical condition or taking medication, talk to a healthcare professional before trying any THC product, including a 5 mg drink.
